Lil Kim Today – 2008
Today’s profile is on Kimberly Jones better known as Female Rapper Lil’ Kim. Once a beautiful girl now a total different looking woman, what’s really going on here? This is a self-esteem issue for sure! I have heard several people refer to the issue of low self-esteem and relate it to most of these female Hip Hop and R&B artists? This eventually trickles down to young girls today who may somehow look up to an artist like Lil’ Kim—I completely understand upgrading your look and fitting in with the times and trends, but this is a bit drastic!?! No? I mean….what is your opinion? do you think Lil’ Kim has gone too far and if so is it a result of self-hatred? Has her image affected her craft of making music?
I am personally familiar with the problems this woman is going through. Do you know how hard it is for some women to actually look in the mirror and examine themselves? And by that I mean examining yourself within…..”Your Soul”….when you can’t, you become ugly, not only in the face, but mentally, emotionally, and physically. Like love, beauty is a word sometimes too freely thrown around and not properly understood. I wish for her fans, Lil’ Kim recognizes her inner beauty and loves herself enough to contribute positively to her future—improve her musical career—evolve and mature as an artist! Come on Kim! Looking like this, you are just giving us something to talk negatively about (as if there isn’t enough out there to rag on….are you trying to be the next Amy Winehouse?)
Will we ever see the rebirth of a Lil’ Kim? Its been declared by many that Hip Hop is dead….it might be true
Stay tuned……

YES! you read the headline above correctly, Miss Jones from Hot 97.1 WQHT-FM has exited/been removed/perhaps fired?!?! Who really knows? Supposedly, Miss Jones is looking to spend more time with her family!?! Good enough excuse, but let’s keep it real, ratings aren’t exactly up to par at the “#1 Hip Hop station in NYC—the last I checked and yes I check station ratings in the trades! Hot 97 WAS NOT #1….more like #7 or 8! so replacements were due and the morning show just wasn’t cuttin’ it! Do you want to know her replacement? Let’s give it up for Program Director Ebro Darden bringing the WEST COAST to the East Coast with Big Boi’s Neighborhood, an L.A. Morning syndicated by ABC Radio Networks. Big Boi’s Neighborhood which can be most popularly heard in the Greater Los Angeles area on KPWR Power 106.7 from 5a-10a as well as an array of other major markets! I must say….this is not a shabby replacement!
Facts on Big Boi:

Does this not sound redundant already? Is BET just doomed for disaster? Will our community ever have something to call our own? …..Apparently not. You would think a company like BET would know a little something on content…CONTENT is key people!
OH who am I kidding…its BET, what is their most notable program: THE BET AWARDS…They sure did get real lucky this year with its attempt to not seem as ghetto. Now if yall could just do the same with regular programming! To add insult to injury, here are a couple of excerpts from just how much BET influences our children and just what BET Chairman and CEO Debra Lee wants to do about it! (LOL @ the picture of her behind you can view below enjoying a pre-party for the BET Awards with David Banner but can’t even hold up a positive reputation for the network!!..DAMN SHAME)
As written in www.hiphopdx.com:
The study found that children were exposed to violence, profanity or obscenity once every 38 seconds.
According to a CNN report, BET Chairman and CEO, Debra Lee dismissed the study, saying the network pays attention to the content it airs and edits videos.
“It’s geared for kids but the content is for adults,” Porter told HipHopDX. “That’s what the study shows
