Greeetings Blog Readers!

I blog to you today to inform you of a very special organization geared towards the advancement of women in the media industry providing them with advocacy, support, educational programs, networking opportunities, and more!  I am honored this year to serve on the Board of Directors for the 2008-2009 term and become part of a historic organization acting as a voice for the most powerful women in New York City in this exciting entertainment arena! As membership chair for AWRT NYC Chapter, I am of course in charge of recruiting you to join my organization —-so WHERE SHOULD I START?

Why Join AWRT NYC Chapter?

Its simply because of our mission and presence in one of the biggest markets motivating each member to get involved and face issues concerning women and this industry with that NEW YORK SWAGGER!!! Established in 1951, AWRT is a national, non-profit organization dedicated to advancing the impact of women in electronic media and related fields. AWRT has local chapters throughout the United States that promote the advancement and impact of women in electronic media and relate fields by educating, advocating, and acting as a resource for members in the industry. As a national organization, AWRT takes positions on policy issues of importance to women. Over the past several years, AWRT has worked hard to promote ownership opportunities for women in the communications industry and to support efforts to make equal employment opportunity rules for women in communications effective and efficient.
