    • The 10 Blackberry Commandments – This is hilarious! Thnx CC :)

    •
SECTION: Funny Ish,Is this you?,What do you think?addiction, BlackBerry Commandments, Joey Reiman, PINK Magazine

So I am liking this November 2008 Issue of PINK Magazine more and more…..there is an article on Blackberries or as everyone UNIVERSALLY refers to them as CRACKBERRIES because that is exactly what they are!  Believe me I KNOW!!!  So this article by Joey Reiman is a “Blackberry version of the Ten Commandments” (if that makes any sense)  Its actually pretty funny, truthful, and a good read to get you thinking about how much we may rely on these pieces of technology! Ughhhhhhh!  Read and worship theses “commandments” below! Enjoy! lol

    10 BLACKBERRY COMMANDMENTS

    1.  Thou shalt not take the BlackBerry to any table with food on it or family around it. A BlackBerry is not a fruit,    nor does it come from a tree

    2.  Thou shalt not use the BlackBerry as reading material in the event of insomnia.  It will only worsen your situation.

    3.  Thou shalt not BlackBerry in lieu of responding to a child’s request (e.g. “Wait a second, I’m reading something”).

    4.  Thou shalt not place the BlackBerry within distance of hearing its incessant beeps while at home.  IT is NOT a bird.

    5.  Thou shalt not check the BlackBerry as if it were your baby.  It will not cry or stop breathing. (LMAO..this is mos def ME!)

    6.  Thou shalt not confuse number of e-mails with self-worth.

    7.  Thou shalt do everything possible to misplace your BlackBerry on weekends.  “There’s No Place Like Home” will never be the tagline for the BlackBerry company.

    8.  Thou shalt remember that a BlackBerry is not a body appendage.  It is a device that belongs in your briefcase or on your desk, not in social settings.

    9.  Thou shalt refrain from bringing the BlackBerry to events involving family interaction.  Extraneous dialogue with this contraption in lieu of real conversation suggests addiction.

    AND LASTLY……

    10.  Thou shalt never, ever, ever bring the BlackBerry to bed.  Do this and you are BlackBuried!!!!!!!!

    • Michelle Obama’s Personal Schedule: Ever Wonder how she manages her time?

    •
SECTION: Black Businesses/Uplifting the Community,Important American Government & Politics,In a Woman's World/Women's History,What I LoveAttorney, Career, Coroporate Exec, Michelle Obama, Mother, PINK Magazine, Political Advisor, Time

    Well here’s the answer:

FUTURE FIRST LADY, FASHION ICON, AND AN INSPIRATION? SHE’S GOT IT ALL!

Today my business manager gave me the November 2008 issue of PINK Magazine (awesome magazine by the way) and it had an amazing article on Michelle Obama, our potential future first lady!!! Speaking as a young African American woman and democratic, Michelle Obama excites me and gives me hope that our future will and can conquer trying times.  Anyway, the article primarily focused on her life and how she balances her career and family.  This was important to me as I am currently captivated by becoming the ultimate “successful career woman”, mother and wife someday to a very very LUCKY man! :)   In the article is a thorough outline of Mrs. Obama’s daily schedule…and I only have one thing to say: My feelings about this woman and her passion towards her family and the state of our country surpass admiration, she is the epitome of integrating family and career while maintaining utter professionalism, respect, and love—-AMAZING.  Just to give you an idea of what I read, below is a list of just some of her daily routines (AND I THOUGHT WORKING 3 JOBS burnt me out!)

P.S. Make sure to cop the November 2008 Issue of PINK Magazine to check out the article! Its a MUST READ! :)

Here is a sneak peek into the life of Michelle Obama:

Stylish Attorney, Corporate Exec,  Political Advisor, and Mother of two beautiful girls

@6a – Checks her Blackberry for campaign updates- who doesn’t?

@8a – Hits the gym for her workout plan :)

@10a – campaigning for her hubby and as first lady she plans to focus on needs of women and families in the military

@ 12 noon – Roundtable conversations with working women ….how empowering!

@ 2p – Press interviews – she actually loves talking to reporters

    @4p – Fundraising events

@6p – Back home to her family, love doting husband (future Pres) and beautiful little girls!

    FREE COLLEGE ED.FOR BLACK MALES

    Black Male Teachers WANTED!!!

Do you know any Black males who are seniors in high school who want to
go to college out of state for  ‘FREE’ ? Several Black Colleges are
looking for future black male teachers and will send them to
    universities/colleges for 4 years FREE.

The ‘Call Me MISTER’ program is an effort to address the critical
shortage of African American male teachers particularly among South
Carolina ‘s lowest performing public schools. Program participants are
selected from among under-served, socio-economically disadvantaged and
    educationally at-risk communities.

The Call Me MISTER program combines the special strengths and resources
of Clemson University with the individualized instructional programs
offered by four historically black colleges in South Carolina : Benedict
College , Claflin University , Morris College and South Carolina State
University. To provide even greater opportuni ty and access, students
have the option of first attending one of our two-year partner colleges
before transferring to one of the four-year institutions to complete
their baccalaureate degree. In addition, the project has limited
enrollment in the middle school Master of Art in Teaching program.

The project provides tuition for admitted students pursuing approved programs of study at participating colleges.  An academic support system to help assure their success.  A cohort system for social and cultural support.

SECTION: Believe It Or Not!!!,Did you know that....?,Society Disturbed,This just in....,What do you think?, African Queens, Black, H&M

    The H&M Boycott african queen

H&M has an ad campaign that features African queens. But get this, not even ONE of these women is Black. The spread features all white women. When MaNtsetse Kgama saw this, she’d had enough. So she enlisted her hommie Shannon James, contacted fashionista and activist Michaela Angela Davis for advice, and ammassed a plucky group of young sistahs who have challenged this slight to Black women with a boycott. They’ve been on conversations with H&M’s marketing execs and need your help to get H&M to retract the ad, apologize for the insult and develop a new, more accurate campaign.First, the all-Black issue of Vogue and now this! Looks like sistahs are taking the fashion bull@%&! by the horns. To join the effort and learn more visit the facebook page: H&M’s “African Queen”,1947 Doll Test: We’ve got to Write this Wrong.
