    • DOES THIS LOOK LIKE THE FACE OF A KILLER?

    •
SECTION: Believe It Or Not!!!,Did you know that....?,Strange But True News,UNBELIEVABLE!!!!,What do you think?Gang Activity, Murderer, Sharell Butler

A fifteen-year-old girl who claims to be part of a gang called the ‘Bloods’ has been charged with the brutal murders of two individuals in a drug-related incident.

Sharell Butler may only be 15, but she is being tried for the murders of two individuals in a drug crime – and her father is backing her up.

James Butler, Sharell’s father, defended her just one day after she was arraigned. Her crime? Helping to kill one man, Christopher Umpierrie, and dismembering another, John Hopkins Drago.

Sharell is not the only one being charged with assault, manslaughter and murder – so is 19-year-old Robert Pastore.  Sharell will be tried as an adult.

Seriously..she does look crazy enough to tie your ass up! Oh and her FATHER is delusional (I’m sorry…he should just face it already..your precious princess is a killer!)

I guess you can’t let a sweet face fool you.  It’s too bad because this young girl just ruined the rest of her life (sigh….) Another young life gone due to another wrong decision in life

    • JAZZ GREAT FREDDIE HUBBARD PASSED AT AGE 70

    •
SECTION: RIP/TributeAge 70, Freddie Hubbard, Great, Jazz, RIP

Freddie Hubbard, the Grammy-winning jazz musician whose style influenced a generation of trumpet players and who collaborated with such greats as Ornette Coleman, John Coltrane and Sonny Rollins, died Monday, a month after suffering a heart attack. He was 70.

Hubbard died at Sherman Oaks Hospital, said his manager, fellow trumpeter David Weiss of the New Jazz Composers Octet. He had been hospitalized since suffering the heart attack a day before Thanksgiving.

A towering figure in jazz circles, Hubbard played on hundreds of recordings in a career dating to 1958, the year he arrived in New York from his hometown Indianapolis, where he had studied at the Arthur Jordan Conservatory of Music and with the Indianapolis Symphony.

Hubbard played on more than 300 recordings, including his own albums and those of scores of other artists. He won his Grammy in 1972 for best jazz performance by a group for the album “First Light.”

As a young musician, Hubbard became revered among his peers for a fiery, blazing style that allowed him to hit notes higher and faster than just about anyone else with a horn. As age and infirmity began to slow that style, he switched to a softer, melodic style and played a flugelhorn. His fellow musicians were still impressed.

    • COMPOSITION OF A BLACK MAN: DEALER, RAPPER, OR CRIMINAL…

    •
SECTION: Life Is A .....,Society Disturbed,Venting,What do you think?,What is your purpose in life?African American, Black Man, factors, murders, rate, teenagers, trend

So I was wondering the other day….is it almost a requirement for most African American young men to go through these particular unfortunate stages in life?  What strikes my concern for this topic is the following article on the rise in murders by Black Teenagers.  I have been observing this one article that has been circulating around the blogosphere (lol …don’t know if that’s a real word), but regardless, the murdering of young black males is alarming and for some reason can’t be stopped! Why? (Read Below)

Murders by Black Teenagers Rise, Bucking a Trend

    By ERIK ECKHOLM

    Published: December 29, 2008

The murder rate among black teenagers has climbed since 2000 even as murders by young whites have scarcely grown or declined in some places, according to a new report.

To read more of this article clear here: http://www.nytimes.com/2008/12/29/us/29homicide.html?_r=1&goback=%2Ehom

    I feel like this:

We all wish that things were as easy as just gathering all of our young black men together and spiritually dividing their souls and truly examining each factor that contributes to their slow destruction such as increasing illiteracy rates, high school drop outs, teen pregnancy and single parent homes, and senseless killings just to name a few….however, tis never that easy :(

What is the big difference between way back when and now?  The difference is in the so-called evolution of music, interaction in society, brazen music lyrics, and lack of positive role models!!!!   I almost don’t know where it starts…The BLACK MAN or The BLACK WOMAN….It is the woman that makes the MAN…literally…HE IS BORN…what happens thereafter is then up to her, the support of HIM, and unfortunately outside “influences”..So if the family unit does its job right, then there is nothing to worry about right?

    WRONG!!!

The outside “influences” have indeed taken over…just read below to see how the rise of violent activities are stealing our wonderful young black men away from us

Much of the spike is due to the increase in gang activity in mid-sized and large cities, according to some experts who spoke to UPI.

The report blames cutbacks in federal support for community policing and juvenile crime prevention, reduced support for after-school, and a weakening of gun laws, according to the New York Times.

“Cuts in these areas have been felt most deeply in poor, black urban areas, helping to explain the growing racial disparity in violent crime,” the Times reported, paraphrasing Fox.

This disconcerting news just drives my passion to develop my project/graduate media studies thesis on the affects of media on the self-esteem of young African American women leaders in today’s society even more! The Black Man’s choice shouldn’t be to either turn to Hip Hop/Producing “In Da Studio”, Drug Dealer/Addict, or a future in Bank Robbery…They MUST know there are options.  Raise your CHILD with OPTIONS!!!  In the meantime….DISCUSS

     TO BE CONTINUED……..

    • SARAH PALIN’S DAUGHTER BRISTOL GIVES BIRTH TO BABY BOY

    •
SECTION: Congratulations!!Baby, Bristol Palin, Levi Johnston, Sarah Palin, Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston

The daughter of former vice presidential candidate Sarah Palin gave birth to a son this past weekend.

Bristol Palin, 18, gave birth to Tripp Easton Mitchell Johnston on Saturday. He weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces.

The baby’s father is Levi Johnston, a former hockey player at Alaska’s Wasilla High School.

Palin announced on Sept. 1, the first day of the Republican National Convention, that her unwed daughter was pregnant. The campaign issued a statement saying Bristol “and the young man” would get married.

The announcement that Palin’s daughter, who was 17 at the time, was pregnant immediately drew concerns that it could damage the governor’s credibility as a religious conservative. But many observers noted the pregnancy served to humanize the Palins and showcase the candidate’s rejection of abortion.

Sarah Palin and her husband, Todd, have five children ranging in age from son Trig, 7 months, to son Track, 19. In between are daughters Willow, 14; Piper, 7; and Bristol.

Really with the names…Trig? Track? Tripp? WOW…can we say HICK! lol

    REGARDLESS…CONGRATS!

    • Jennifer Lopez: The Hopeless Romantic Chronicles

    •
SECTION: Did you know that....?,From The Say It Ain't SO Files,Karma,This just in....Divorce, Jennifer Lopez, Marc Anthony

Ms. JENNIFER LOPEZ-ANTHONY-AFFLECK-COMBS-JUDD (whateva your damn last name is/was/ or will be) YOU should really just give it up already!  This girl can’t keep a man to save her life! Ughhhhh! I mean its crazy enough that she went from some random and high profile relationships with dancer Chris Judd to media mogul Diddy to actor Ben Affleck; but too many rumors are flying from a source who says that J Lo’s 4 year marriage to Marc Anthony is heading towards Splitsville!!

Apparently “Marc and Jennifer are planning on announcing their divorce right after Marc’s show at Madison Square Garden on Feb. 14,” a friend of the couple tells The New York Daily News. “Jennifer is planning on joining Marc onstage for a surprise duet. Things haven’t been right for a while now, and they thought it would be a bittersweet farewell.”

“They’re definitely planning a clean break in February,” the source insists.

The couple, who have been married just over four years and are the parents of 10-month-old twins Max and Esme, renewed their vows in a surprise Las Vegas ceremony back in October, but sources close to the pair say that it didn’t help, and that their relationship has been on a downward spiral in recent months.

Lopez, 39, recently arrived at “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button” premiere in early December without her wedding or engagement rings; as did Marc Anthony at an event out in Las Vegas!

So if this is all true…how sad is that? :(

And again for J Lo…you just need to be alone for a while…believe me it will help!!!!

    Update:

It is now  believed that Jennifer and Marc Anthony are trying to reconcile their marriage…so they’re giving it a second go round…stay tuned! This is according to some radio show I heard the other morning…lol
