So…I am so upset, I had to find out about this INCREDIBLE female singer through watching SATURDAY NIGHT LIVE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Seriously..I am the harshest critic I know when it comes to music and this young woman reminds me of when Amy Winehouse first came out! (AND THAT’S AN AWESOME THING) On a female tip….this beats out “If I Were A Boy” ANY DAY OF THE WEEK….seriously listen to this song and its words before you think I am entirely crazy and pay close attention to how she uses her voice (It is B-E-A-U-T-I-F-U-L)

Histoy on Adele

So how did I let this voice slip my ears?  I hear her sound is best described as “heartbroken soul”  and I couldn’t have put it any better myself.  Adele has even been praised by musical genius’ like Kanye West and Beyonce—with good reason.  Here is a bit of history on this great artist:

Professionally known as Adele, (Full Name) Adele  Laurie Blue Adkins  is an English-Welsh jazz singer is from North London (I guess that’s where all the really talented singers hide huh?…Good strategy Kelly Rowland..lol)  Adele has described her musical style as “heartbroken soul”.  She is the first recipient of the BRIT Awards Critics’ Choice, which was given to artists who, at the time, had yet to release an album. She has noted American Jazz and Blues singers Etta James and Ella Fitzgerald as influences. She debuted at number one with her Mercury-Prize-nominated debut album 19 on the UK album chart; the disc has since been certified gold with sales of more than 500,000 copies.  The album has yet to match its British success in the US, where the album peaked at #54 on the Billboard 200 chart on 8 July 2008; however it did reach #36 on the magazine’s “Top Heatseekers” chart.

Adele plans to write her next album in New York because it would give her the inspiration she is lacking at home where she is comfortable. In October 2008 Adele along with Beth Rowley and Jamie Cullum will be guest singers for the award-winning pianist and composer Burt Bacharach at the BBC Electric Proms event.  November will see Adele perform at the Mencap little Noise sessions charity event in London.
