DAMMIT! I was a week off from stopping this dude from ruining his life while I was staying at the Excalibur in Vegas for my birthday weekend! Well maybe….Here’s how it all went down!
Scott Storch, the famed hip-hop producer who suffers from a history of drug abuse, was arrested in Vegas earlier this month for possession of cocaine
According to TMZ, Las Vegas police arrested Storch at his hotel around 8:30 AM on Feb. 4th
As reported by TMZ.com
Storch was popped when an employee called police to complain that Storch wouldn’t pay for his room.
When cops arrived to the scene, we’re told officers discovered Storch was in possession of cocaine. Storch was hauled to a nearby police station … where he was released on $5k bond.
Damn shame …everyone should learn something from the death of Whitney Houston, although this incident occurred a week before her death, let’s keep spreading and encouraging the importance of saying NO to DRUGS! Especially since Mr. Storch was actually in rehab trying to get over his addiction, it is still a long road ahead of him! Let’s pray for his recovery!

February is the American Heart Association’s Go Red For Women heart health awareness month. Go Red For Women celebrates the energy, passion and power we have as women to band together to wipe out heart disease and stroke. Cardiovascular disease claimed the lives of nearly 500,000 American women each year, yet women were not paying attention. In fact, many even dismissed it as an “older man’s disease.” To dispel the myths and raise awareness of heart disease as the number one killer of women, the American Heart Association created Go Red For Women – a passionate, emotional, social initiative designed to empower women to take charge of their heart health.
In 2003, the National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute (NHLBI), the American Heart Association and other organizations committed to women’s health joined together to raise awareness of women and heart disease. The NHLBI introduced the red dress as a national symbol for women and heart disease awareness and the American Heart Association adopted this symbol to create synergy among all organizations committed to fighting this cause.

Don Cornelius, the creator and longtime host of the groundbreaking music show ‘Soul Train,’ has died. He was 75.
According to the Los Angeles Times, police arrived at Cornelius’ Sherman Oaks home around 4 a.m. and found him dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
A radio news announcer by trade, Cornelius began moonlighting at WCIU-TV in the 1960s. While there, he toyed with the idea of creating an African-American version of “American Bandstand,” Dick Clark’s influential music show, with live dancing five days a week. On August 17, 1970, the first episode of Soul Train premiered on the station, and by the following year, it was being syndicated in other markets.
“Soul Train” would go on to become the longest-running nationally syndicated show in history, airing from 1971 through 2006. Cornelius held down the hosting duties for most of that run, before stepping away in 1993. He remained as the program’s executive producer and expanded the brand into an annual awards show.
“I have known him since I was 19 years old and James Brown had me speak on ‘Soul Train,’” the Rev. Al Sharpton said in a statement. “We have maintained a friendship for the last 38 years. He brought soul music and dance to the world in a way that it had never been shown and he was a cultural game changer on a global level. Had it not been for Don Cornelius we would not have ever transcended from the Chitlin circuit to become mainstream cultural trendsetters.”
Cornelius recently told the Los Angeles Times that there were early plans to create a movie based on the franchise. “We’ve been in discussions with several people about getting a movie off the ground,” he said. “It wouldn’t be the ‘Soul Train’ dance show, it would be more of a biographical look at the project. It’s going to be about some of the things that really happened on the show.”
In 2008, Cornelius was arrested and charged with spousal battery and dissuading a witness from making a police report, and assault with a deadly weapon. He was sentenced to three years probation.
During his rocky divorce battle with his ex-wife, Viktoria, TMZ reported that Cornelius made a morbid request in the couple’s divorce papers. “I am 72 years old. I have significant health issues,” Cornelius said. “I want to finalize this divorce before I die.”
On the first day of Black History Month, this is definitely NOT how I would have wanted to start, and the reactions to the news of Don Cornelius’ death today brought about some real emotion, here are some celebrity/facebook/twitter and overall online reactions and read just how much of a real impact Mr. Cornelius had on today’s entertainers and aspiring talent:

My condolences to Tony, Christina & the entire family. Very sad day for the family & all of us that knew Mr. Don Cornelius, an icon & trailblazer!
Wendy Raquel Robinson: Sending my love to Don Cornelius and family! I am eternally thankful for all that you’ve done for us all! #soultrain dancer 4 life!

Spinderella: Very sad news about Don Cornelius.. May his soul rest ‘peacefully’
Aretha Franklin: said in a statement: “It’s just so sad, stunning and downright shocking … a huge and momentous loss to the African-American community and the world at large.
Shemar Moore, who took over hosting duties for 5 years in the 90′s, put out a heartfelt statement about his predecessor:
“My heart is heavy after hearing the news of Don’s passing.I can’t imagine what his son, Tony, and extended family must be feeling. I am truly sorry that such an iconic man has left us too soon.
Don Cornelius was responsible for a show that revolutionized the music industry, introduced the world to many of the biggest superstars of music, and showed generation after generation over 40 years how to keep it funky and get your groove on every Saturday morning on the ‘hippest trip in America’…Soul Train. It was truly my honor to continue the tradition and be a part of history by being given the opportunity by Don to host Soul Train for five years.
I didn’t dare try to fill his shoes because it just couldn’t be done. Don was the man! And as always in parting, me and your Soul Train family wish you, Don — love, peace and soul! Rest in peace, my friend.”
REST in LOVE, PEACE, & SOUL DON C!

She says she called 50 “the worst thing you can call a black person, just short of the N-word.”Chelsea then went on to blast Mariah Carey. She feels that Carey is worse than Elizabeth Taylorand doesn’t know what planet Mariah Carey lives on.
