Gio’s Hair Salon NYC

200 West 21st Street (Chelsea)

New York, NY 10019

Gio's Hair Salon

I found Gio’s Hair Salon back in 2008 walking around NYC trying to find the perfect chic hair salon to give me the right haircut. A quaint, sexy spot that specializes in styling, color and especially cuts!  My stylist Gio is fabulous with her hands and a pair of scissors!  I told her what I wanted and she created my vision!  I must admit…it was perfect!!!  I love the seasonal special packages at Gio’s, I even purchased one for my best friend Dorothy for her birthday and the outcome was of course amazing! Gio’s also offers environmentally friendly products and gifts. PS …best hairstyle hands down given to me by Gio was what I called my “T Boz Hottie Red cut” …It was the hottest red I ever put in my hair and the cut was to DIE FOR!

Evolution Green Room Salon

442 Atlantic Ave

Brooklyn, NY, 11217

I was introduced to Evolution while preparing to host BK Fashion Weekend last year and was styled by owner and lead stylist Natasha Paul. She gave me a great wash with products from her line Natasha Paul Elements and gave me an amazing flat iron style! They are a favorite of Sophisticate’s Black Hair Styles and Care GuideEssence being regularly featured for their innovative styled and healthy “Green” hair care approach. Evolution features treatments like a deep steam moisture treatment for your hair and a coconut moisturizing manicure. Their staff even provides information on how to keep up your hair with Eco-friendly tips. They provide non-toxic, organic products. And they make it easy – book your appointment online.

Aris Dominican Hair Salon (Long Island)

281 Meacham Ave, Elmont, NY 11003

The best Dominican Hair Salon hands down in Nassau County Long Island…out in my hometown of Elmont of course! They did my Brazilian hair extensions for my 30th birthday and it was awesome. I came in at 9am with my natural hair and she literally transformed my hair into exactly what I wanted! She was welcoming, precise, and professional. If you are looking for a true expert to do Brazilian extensions, see Ms. Nellie because she will thoroughly take care of you.

Danesha Beauty Care

92-11 Guy R Brewer Blvd

Jamaica, NY

Danish Beauty Care

Danesha Beauty Care is top notch and serves up nothing than the best when it comes to Senegalese Twists!  So here comes the beginning of winter and the cold month of January rolls right on in and I just don’t feel like doing the routine wash-n-sets every other week so I decided to take a “break” with my hair!  Black Girls…you know what that means…’re either getting your hair braided or weaved up!  However, I wanted something totally different so I decided on Senegalese twists!  I got interested in the twists because one of my closest college friends Anna got them and they looked fabulous so I had to inquire within! Nicki the stylist explained the process and 5 hours later my twists were looked amazing!  It was a great break from the everyday maintenance of the creamy crack hair straightening nightmare!
